Mathieu Van Criekingen is a professor of geography and urban studies at IGEAT - Université libre de Bruxelles.
His overarching research and teaching interest is in the production of urban space, approached through critical lenses and from a situated context - Brussels. His work focuses particularly on the spatial expressions of social domination, processes and politics of gentrification, alternative to mainstream neoliberal urbanism, and forms of resistance in working-class neighbourhoods.
